Senior Consultant - Health Solutions

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from any of our offices.

What the day will look like

Support the team on various projects, such as: analysis and negotiation of annual renewals, analysis and cost projections following carrier marketings, experience monitoring, including analysis of claim costs, trends and client relevant KPIs

  • Prepare and/or review of client ready material
  • Provide technical expertise to client teams and analysts in respect to the work being completed
  • Review client communication material, from a technical standpoint, following renewals, marketings, new plan implementations, redesigns or for union meeting purposes
  • Support ad-hoc financial requests, working with carriers and other business units to support client facing colleagues
  • Coordinate projects with analysts, other business units and carriers
  • Increase efficiency by identifying ways to improve standardized processes and add value to client deliverables

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Minimum Eight (8) years of direct group benefits experience in consulting or underwriting environment is required;
  • Must have and maintain a valid group insurance license – multi-jurisdictional is an asset;
  • Proven organization skills and the ability to effectively coordinate the delivery of projects and advisory services;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and client team members;
  • Strong technical expertise and the proven ability to remain current with respect to industry trends, provincial and federal legislative policies and changes;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
  • Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure;
  • Must have strong digital literacy and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.
  • University or College graduate in Financial Services, Mathematics, Actuarial science, or related discipline, or equivalent years of industry experience
  • Completed Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) would be an asset
How this opportunity is different

As a Senior Consultant in our Broking team, you will be supporting client teams in the servicing of clients with respect to the financial management of their benefit programs. Working with a team of analysts and senior team leaders you will be involved with a variety of client deliverables including but not limited to annual renewals, carrier marketings, experience reporting and analysis, budget preparation, review of financial statements, union negotiations, pricing and plan redesigns.
