FINANCE MANAGER - REPORTING
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $89,745 - $104,507 in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Employment for Non-Union, Management, Administration and Supervisory Employees

The Avon Maitland District School Board is inviting applications for the permanent, non-union position of Finance Manager - Reporting at the Education Centre in Seaforth, Ontario.
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the successful candidate will support the Board’s internal and external reporting processes. As a member of the Financial Services leadership team, the successful candidate will also assist in the development of business plans, workflow modernization and training initiatives ensuring the integrity of our accounting processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Completion of the Board’s financial reporting requirements including the preparation of annual financial statements and mid-year Ministerial year-end report, coordination of the annual external audit, and other internal and external reporting as requested, in compliance with PSAB and applicable Ministry Guidelines.
Creation and regular production of internal financial reports, including review of said reports, monitoring transactions and regular general ledger account reconciliations.
Supervision of the Senior Accounting Associate function responsible for journal entry processing, accounts receivable, HST reporting, and bank reconciliations.
Responsible for cash flow monitoring and related projections, as well as review of bank reconciliations.
Responsible for managing banking services, including liaise with bank staff, completing banking related paperwork and risk mitigation as it relates to cash flow.
Responsible for accounts receivable functions, including review of invoicing, monitoring receivables, account reconciliations and related reporting.
Responsible for HST activities at the board, including HST transaction monitoring, reporting and related Audits
Timely and accurate processing of payroll related payments and ledger imports (e.g. upload of bank payroll import files, general ledger payroll import entries, confirmation/correction of payroll entry coding, statutory remittance payment processing, etc.) as well as supporting the Payroll department in general ledger and reporting related queries
Qualifications and Experience
Professional Accounting Designation (i.e. CPA)
University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent
Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Finance or Accounting
School board or other public sector experience would be an asset
Proven professional written and oral communication skills
Initiative and motivation to ensure quality and accuracy of tasks performed
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent knowledge and understanding of PSAB and commodity tax (HST) requirements
The capacity to work independently, problem-solve and multi-task in a busy environment
Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Demonstrated proficiency in advanced level computer applications
