Job Summary

The Team
The Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) is a province-wide program that provides financial assistance and range of other benefits to assist those impacted by violent crime in British Columbia. The team is a dedicated and supportive group, that works in a high-volume, fast-paced environment to support the recovery of victims, their immediate family members, and witnesses by administering statutory benefits. The CVAP team is led by a Director and Team Leads that oversee the work of administrative staff, claim coordinators and adjudicators. Working within CVAP’s guiding legislation and regulations, the team is committed to continuous improvement in trauma-informed service delivery.

The Role
The Team Lead, Claims Coordination and Administration, offers an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of victims, their families, and witnesses impacted by violent crime. As part of the Crime Victim Assistance Program, you will guide and inspire a dedicated team managing claims, verifying information, and coordinating payments-all while ensuring services remain accessible and responsive. By driving innovation, analyzing trends, and recommending improvements, you’ll play a key role in shaping a program that truly supports recovery and resilience.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience providing direct services to victims of crime or vulnerable people.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience supervising staff and leading teams.
  • Experience working in a high pressure, fast paced work environment.
  • Experience managing projects.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Degree in a related field (i.e.: Criminology, psychology, social work, etc.).
  • Diploma in a related field (i.e.: Criminology, psychology, social work, etc.)

About this Position:
This position can be based out of any of the locations listed above.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to four (4) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
