Job Summary

Showcase your passion for risk-management in this analytical role

In the Ministry of Finance, the Risk Management Branch (RMB) is accountable for the effective management of risk to which the provincial public sector is exposed by virtue of its assets, programs and operations.

The Risk Management Analyst promotes best risk management practices and provides basic risk management advice to ministries, government corporations and broader public sector clients (healthcare, K-12 schools, post-secondary education). Activities include reviewing and recommending for approval indemnities and related risk allocation language in basic contracts, using insurance and risk management principles to support the administration and delivery of coverage programs, and coordinating, developing and managing communications and reference materials.

Job Requirements:

  • Post-secondary certificate or higher and one (1) year of related experience*. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.


*Related experience includes administrative, clerical or support role working in any of the following environments:

  • Experience providing administrative or support to risk management professionals.
  • Experience supporting others and performing basic functions in the insurance industry.
  • Experience working with others to support enterprise risk management activities.


Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Additional years of related experience.
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) or working towards one of these designations.
  • Experience working with construction or commercial lines insurance.
  • Experience working in a Canadian insurance environment.
