Job Summary

Bring your vision, leadership, and strategic planning skills to this important role

Reporting to the Ministry Chief Information Officer and Executive Director, the Director of Digital Transformation & Delivery, leads and supports the Economy Sectors’ products in support of BC Public Service’s transition to digital government. This role is critical in maturing the team-based approach to digital service delivery in alignment with the new CITZ Digital Principles and Code of Practice.

The Director leads a team of cross-functional digital areas of expertise and works with internal and external senior business leaders, IMIT/digital colleagues, and peer directors in providing strategic oversight to cross-functional, multi-disciplinary agile teams that will support the delivery of agile projects to ensure products are being developed, services are being delivered successfully, and outcomes are aligned with clients’ objectives and satisfy key financial and operational performance indicators.

Job Requirements:

  • A master’s degree in business, operations management, public administration, information management and information technology, computer science or a related/equivalent discipline or a combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience leading the creation, improvement, and management of a wide variety of products and services for an organization of similar size and complexity.

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience leading change management activities in transformation initiatives.

  • A minimum of 4 years of supervising employees, professionals, and multi-disciplinary teams

  • A minimum of 3 years leading strategic IM/IT public sector procurements and contract management.

  • Agile training or certification.

  • Experience with innovation methods including but not limited to facilitation.

  • Experience as a Product Owner managing a backlog in a Dev Ops environment.

  • Experience leading teams and resolving complex staff and/or client issues.

  • Experience building relationships with multiple jurisdictions, stakeholders, and private sectors.


Preferences may be given to candidates with experience in:

  • Leadership in digital government or transformation initiatives.

  • Digital Transformation training or certification.

  • Experience with grant management systems.

  • Experience delivering training and learning to adults and professionals.

  • Experience facilitating executive to achieve organization alignment/direction.

  • Experience managing budgets, contracts and expenditures ensuring compliance with fiscal parameters and the prudent use of financial resources.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from up to five (5) days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
