Job Summary

The Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship is accountable for integrated land and natural resource management, including objective setting for land and marine environments, effectively managing cumulative effects, and advancing reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, environmental sustainability, and economic growth.

Reporting to the Director, Resource Stewardship Operations, this position provides support to program management/regional management and staff ensuring coordination of all regional administration functions, human resources, payroll, records management, facilities, and asset management. This position also provides support for core business including tracking and record-keeping for decision-support referrals and supports a team of field staff who work on habitat for fish and wildlife. There will be opportunities to accompany them on field trips on occasion.

Job Requirements:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of experience providing administrative and financial support services to a group of staff in an office setting.
  • Minimum one year of experience typing, formatting, and proofreading a variety of documents and materials using desktop tools such as Word and Excel.
  • Experience managing an electronic calendar in an office setting (e.g., booking meetings, appointments, and travel).


Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

  • Government experience.
  • Experience coordinating financial activities such as, but not limited to, budgets, contract administration, accounts payable, processing purchasing and/or credit card reconciliation while ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation.


Willingness Statement:

  • Willingness to travel which may include attending meetings, training opportunities, occasional field days with staff or other events.
