The Team
The Internal Communications and Online Content team is responsible for ensuring that Ministry of Forests staff across the province have all the information and tools to do their jobs, and that the people of B.C. can rely on the ministry’s content found on gov.bc.ca. We are based in the Deputy Minister’s Office which was acknowledged as a top work unit in the BC Public Service in 2024. The successful applicant can look forward to joining a small and supportive group that takes pride in advancing an important mandate that focuses on B.C.’s ecosystem health, a modernized forestry sector, and advancing meaningful reconciliation with First Nations.
The Role
The successful applicant will take responsibility for maintaining the Ministry of Forests high standards for intranet and external web pages. You will use the Public Service’s content management system to ensure web content is accurate, meets government web standards, and follows plain language guidelines. The ICOC interacts closely with every business area in this large ministry. That means our team is highly appreciated for the service we provide while enjoying a unique view of the entire ministry in action. You can expect a thorough training period, on-going support, and daily interaction with the full team.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
• Secondary school graduation.
• Experience reviewing/editing written content.
• Experience working on projects with multiple subject matter experts.
• Related work experience in project management.
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
• Experience with content management systems.
• Direct experience working within the Government’s content management system, CMS Lite, in editing, creating, and publishing webpages and assets.
• Experience applying government web standards including web writing, content structuring, and plain language concepts.
• Experience working in the Natural Resource Ministries.

About this Position:
This is a temporary opportunity until January 2, 2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
