Job Summary

The Team
The Prince George Court Registry team is a dedicated and dynamic group committed to ensuring access to justice for everyone in our community. With approximately 24 team members-including court clerks, registry clerks, Deputy District Registrars, Justices of the Peace, and Accounting Clerks-our team works collaboratively with Sheriffs, the Judiciary, and justice partners like the RCMP, Crown, and Probation. The Role
In this role, you will provide essential accounting and administrative support to the Supreme and Provincial Courts, ensuring the smooth processing of financial transactions, court fees, and witness accounts. Your work directly impacts citizens by providing timely, impartial, and efficient access to justice during challenging times. Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative support or customer service experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a cashier or in a cash handling role. Accounting training and/or education may also be considered.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Keyboard speed of 40 words per minute.
  • Valid B.C. drivers’ licence. .

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

  • Experience in court programs and applications (e.g., JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD).
  • Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk.
  • One year of previous work experience in a legal environment.

Provisos:

  • May be required to work flexible hours, including varied shifts and overtime on short notice.
  • May be required to travel, including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas, including circuit court locations. Must have reliable transportation and/or be willing to travel with others.
  • May be required to use personal vehicle.
