The Team
The Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Kelowna team is a well-established group of 15 dedicated mental health clinicians and nurses working to support children, youth, and families facing moderate to severe mental health challenges. As the Associate Team Leader, you’ll collaborate with this passionate team, along with consulting psychiatrists, to provide compassionate, inclusive care and make a meaningful impact in the community.
The Role
As an Associate Team Leader, you’ll supervise up to 9 staff while shaping and enhancing mental health programs to ensure they meet the needs of children, youth, and families. This role offers a unique blend of leadership and direct clinical work, giving you the chance to guide a dedicated team while continuing to make a direct impact through meaningful client care. It’s an exciting opportunity to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on mental health services in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Degree in Nursing (in a field relevant to the position) and licensed to practice nursing in the Province of British Columbia under the Registered Nursing Association of BC and/or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nursing of BC.
- Experience in the provision of mental health services to children, youth, and their families.
Preference statement:
- Two or more years experience in the provision of mental health services to children, youth, and their families.
Willingness statements:
- Opportunity to work with families facing challenges which may occasionally involve exposure to unpleasant dealings with angry, abusive, or abused clients; exposure to hazards from frequently working around volatile parents and/or children in crisis
- May be required to work evening/weekends.
- Exposure to regular travel in remote locations.
- May be required to use own vehicle on an expense account basis.
- Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
