Salary Range: $76,071.18 to $86,658.48 per annum

We are seeking a Senior Research Analyst to join our team in VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada.
As a Senior Research Analyst, you will be a part of a high functioning team of experienced, forward-thinking analytics professionals. Hybrid Work Model
This position is located in our Victoria, BC office. You will have the opportunity to work part of the time on-campus and part of the time off-campus. The requirement for in-office presence is a minimum of 40% of your schedule in a month.
Additional requirements are determined by the role functions and operational needs of each business area.
Responsibilities
- Participates in management/executive planning sessions to formulate survey objectives and explore possible research projects/studies to support program and/or policy goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop survey research plans that align with medium/long-term client business needs.
- Designs and delivers executive summaries and presentations for senior executives and stakeholders, highlighting key findings and act as the point of contact for survey-related inquiries
- Leads, or represents the branch on project teams, consultants, staff and/or students in the completion of survey research projects or data development and analysis components, including providing feedback on performance.
- Manages projects including developing project proposals, drafting business cases and cost benefit analyses, defining deliverables, recommending procurement of contracted resources, developing project plans and implementing monitoring measures.
- Develops research plans and strategies using valid statistical/mathematical concepts, models and simulations.
- Designs, adapts and incorporates appropriate methodologies of data analysis.
- Develops instruments, tools, models and simulations that incorporate statistical, economical, and mathematical concepts.
- Designs, programs and conducts surveys, including giving advice on research methods, sampling techniques, questionnaire design, data analysis and other evaluation processes.
- Monitor response rates and validate survey data to ensure accuracy and reliability, supporting strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
- Researches and analyzes survey results to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights to meet the business and operational needs of the organization.
- Develops or reviews conclusions and recommendations and tests reliability, including defending them where there is conflicting information and conclusions.
- Identifies, develops and monitors measures, indicators, and targets for performance management and accountability activities.
- Performs or oversees the identification, creation and incorporation of data sets and/or access tables, and new sources of data, including preparation of various reports, flow charts, fact sheets, discussion papers, briefing notes and correspondence.
- Partners with internal teams to coordinate survey-related activities compliant with data protection regulations.
- Determines currency, validity and feasibility, and identifies limitations and variations in data.
Qualifications
Must have
- Bachelor's Degree in statistics, data science, market research, public or business administration, social sciences, or another related field.
- Four years of recent, related experience in survey administration, data analysis or market research.
- Recent experience using computer applications including spreadsheets (MS Excel - advanced functions like pivot tables, macros), databases (SQL), presentations (MS PowerPoint) and statistical analysis software (R, Python or SPSS).
- Experience in the data extraction and hierarchical report development.
- Experience designing surveys.
- Strong understanding of survey methodology, including sampling techniques, question design, and data validation.
- Proficiency with survey tools (e.g., Alchemer, Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, or equivalent platforms)
- An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered.
Nice to have
- Experience using visualization applications (Power BI, Tableau, BI Publisher) is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough working knowledge of theories, methods and practices associated with collection and analysis of information and data to support program evaluation or business decision-making.
- Working knowledge of project management or agile principles and performance measurement development and implementation.
- Strong written communication skills required for the development of technical reports, statistical summaries, and other survey research documentation.
- Strong verbal communication skills required to convey complex information to all levels of staff and stakeholders.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, all levels of staff and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated time management and organization skills with the ability to work on concurrent projects with competing deadlines.
- Knowledge of customer satisfaction, net promoter score or employee satisfaction metrics.
- Working knowledge of conducting various types of analyses (i.e. trend, cost benefit, comparative, statistical, and economic) to identify impacts, potential outcomes and risks.
