The Team
This Clinic Coordinator position is a leadership role where you will coordinate referrals, case supervision and reviews, oversee clinical processes, participate in employee recruitment and foster positive team functioning. In this role you will collaborate with a truly multidisciplinary team of colleagues who are experts in their field including Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurses, and Social Workers where all knowledge and contribution is considered and valued in this team effort to support young people in conflict with the law. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills while working at the forefront of very specialized forensic mental health services ensuring timely, effective and targeted intensive individualized treatment plans while supporting community safety in the broader service delivery area.
The Role
The Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS), Langley Outpatient Clinical team is an established, multidisciplinary group of 15 dedicated professionals, including administrative staff, psychiatric social workers, community nurses, clinical psychologists, and psychiatrists. They are committed to supporting youth in the justice system, working compassionately to help adolescents overcome challenges and avoid further legal involvement through tailored support and treatment. Collaborating with the Regional Clinical Team, Youth Probation, Crown Council, Court Registries, and other local community agencies, this team brings their high level of expertise and passion to provide excellent clinical services and make a positive impact on the lives youth who are navigating complex legal and mental health challenges, and the broader community.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements
- Masters in Social Work, Counselling, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level in a similar subject may be considered.
- Successful MSW candidates must be registered and a member in good standing with the BC College of Social Workers. As a condition of employment, successful MSW prepared candidates are required to obtain clinical registration with their regulated professional body within 12 months of employment.
- NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
- Minimum three (3) years of post degree clinical experience providing adolescent, outpatient oriented mental health assessment and treatment services.
Preference may be given for:
- Experience in assisting with program coordination functions or program management functions.
- Recent supervisory experience (gained with in the past 3 years).
Other Requirements:
- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s licence with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
