Job Summary

An opportunity to promote change and foster development

As part of the Permitting Transformation division, the Permitting Solutions division is developing new approaches to provincial policy, tools and systems to streamline decision-making, permitting and authorizations across the Natural Resource Ministries (NRM).

The team is positioned to ensure that modernization is effectively implemented, sustained, and continuously enhanced to meet the evolving needs and interests of Indigenous peoples, clients, and citizens. The program is rooted in the pillars of People, Process, Policy, and Technology to ensure true, sustained, transformation and modernization across permitting within the NRM and MoTI.

Reporting to a Section Head or an excluded manager, the Senior Licenced Authorizations Specialist provides specialist services to the Natural Resource Sector in evaluating resource applications, conducting applied research, and leading or participating in complex projects. This position may supervise professional and technical staff.

Job Requirements:

Education
• Undergraduate Degree or higher in the natural resource sector (forestry, agriculture, hydrology, biology, etc) or a related field, OR
• An equivalent combination of education and related experience* may be considered, AND

*Related experience includes all of the following:
• 2 years or more of experience in negotiating and consulting with stakeholders in natural resource management.
• 1 year or more of experience making recommendations to statutory decision-makers.
• 1 year or more of experience (field/office) working in resource management.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
• Experience supervising staff in a union environment.
• Experience working with the Land Act & the Land Title Act
• Experience conducting land valuation
