Your Opportunity

Our Ottawa office is looking for a Co-op Student or Intern to join the Risk Advisory Services team from May to August 2025 and own the following responsibilities:

  • The Risk Advisory Services team endeavors to identify the most significant issues facing the world today with the objective of helping our clients understand what these risks are and how these risks could impact their business and/or operations.
  • As part of the team, you will be challenged to analyze new and emerging trends in the management, business, risk, legal, environment, social and governance landscape and to examine how our clients can mitigate the impact to their business and where they can leverage these trends as new opportunities.
  • Some of the challenges our team has been tasked with in the past year include:
    • Assessing the risk of climate change impacting the availability of affordable housing.
    • Identifying international best practices in social innovation and finance and assessing the opportunity to leverage these opportunities to support the Canadian arts sector.
    • Identifying business and process risks, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks, for a multi-billion-dollar federal program responsible for supporting Indigenous nations and organizations across the country.
    • Reviewing a $500M major IT transformation and assessing the risks to successful implementation of the project.
  • Our clients include a range of public sector organizations, including Indigenous Services Canada, Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada, the Canadian Museum of Nature, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, the City of Ottawa and many more.
  • Our work takes the form of internal audits, program evaluations, independent third-party reviews, enterprise risk management, and controls assessments, to name a few.
  • We are looking for candidates who want a new challenge and who have the desire to learn new skills, explore new opportunities and apply their creativity to every project. In this role you will be an active member of the team, playing a key role in multiple projects and working closely with leadership and clients.

The Co-op Student or Intern will own the following responsibilities:

  • Support engagement teams to plan and deliver client engagements
  • Play an active role on the team, playing a crucial role in multiple projects and working closely with leadership and clients
  • Maintain a proactive and logical approach to information gathering and analysis, presenting complex ideas clearly through writing and speaking

Your experience and education

  • You are currently working towards a relevant degree/diploma
  • You have a desire to provide outstanding client service and a commitment to teamwork
  • You have proven leadership skills and can take initiative to seek understanding
  • You can diagnose project issues, build solutions, and draft impactful communications for clients
  • You display strong research, problem solving, analytical, writing and communication skills
  • You have or qualify to receive Government of Canada security clearance
