Our Barrie office is looking for an Intermediate Technician to join the Canadian Tax team from February to April and own the following responsibilities:
- Prepare complex personal Tax returns for a variety of clients including heir of estates to sections of Ontario’s vulnerable population.
- Reviewing simple and complex personal Tax returns within the team. Ensuring each return is accurate prior to submitting.
- Building relationships directly with clients to understand tax history and provide the most value to ongoing tax compliance needs.
- Communicating with CRA and other government institutions to resolve tax inquiries.
- Acting as a leader within the team, engaging in training and coaching members of the team.
- Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates on an ongoing basis.

- You will understand the industries BDO services and contribute to the group's advancement.
- You will ensure work is complete, accurate and appropriately reviewed by maintaining the necessary technical knowledge and professional development.
- You will recommend and implement quality or efficiency improvements to our engagements.
- You will actively engage in communication with people leaders to ensure understanding of performance and development, while identifying and attracting top talent.
- You will support our firm's revenue growth by referring clients to other services lines and new clients to BDO.
Your experience and education
- You have 2 years’ experience preparing Canadian personal Tax returns in a professional environment.
- You have experience working with a Tax preparation software ie. TaxPrep
- You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work.
- You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
