As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, the Director Sustainability & Corporate Social Responsibility will be responsible for managing the company's overall Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) program.  As such, the Director is providing us leadership and insight on our journey to become a more responsible business.

Responsible Business is the responsibility of all our leaders and employees.   As such, the role of the Director will be to collaborate closely with key functional leaders to ensure we optimize our strategies and tactics in making a real difference on the environment, the society and our employees for Belron Canada and aligned with our Global framework

The Director will bring specific expertise in the environment area to help us leverage best practices and data to make a tangible contribution towards our goal of reducing our Carbon Footprint, reducing waste and increasing recycling and other key initiatives.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead the strategic planning of our responsible journey:

  • Developing and aligning ESG ambitions and strategy (including aligning with Belron’ global ambitions)
  • Establishing a clear, prioritized activity roadmap that successfully delivers the company’s ambitions, including changes in policies and/or processes, alignment with external benchmarks, and proactive engagement with rating agencies.
  • Help develop our leadership mindset towards responsible business by working across the businesses to inform and educate, ensuring that key stakeholders understand the role that they (or their teams) play in ESG
  • Lead the various reporting efforts both internally within Belron Canada and with key stakeholders
  • Interprets and anticipate internal and or external business challenges and or regulatory issues and recommends process, product or service improvements

In alignment with Belron Global, Report and track overall progress on Responsible Business

  • Partnering with our Global ESG teams, obtain and share best practices
  • Ensure systematic and accurate collection and reporting of key KPIs, and to proactively identify actions plans required to meet ESG requirements.
  • Lead and collect performance indicators from other departments of the company, including supplying data for reporting at Group level (Belron’s statutory reporting obligations continue to grow).
  • Build our CSR reporting and identify KPI’s that are aligned to our local, regional and global approach

Contribute directly to our Responsible Business Journey

  • Engaging with the broader ESG community to build partnerships and share best practices.
  • Plan and implements efforts to demonstrate the organisation’s commitment to sustainability, the environment and social responsibility.
  • Coordinate internal and external social responsibility programs and activities with other group (e.g. People & Culture, Real Estate, etc)
  • Lead the review of our policies in support of our responsible business journey
  • Work with the Internal Communications and Brand & Customer Promise teams to make Belron Canada CSR approach visible to our employees and stakeholders

IDEAL PROFILE:

  • B.S in sciences, engineering or environmental science, sustainable development OR business with relevant working experience 
  • MBA OR master’s degree in a relevant field is an asset
  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years relevant experience managing CSR & Sustainability programs within a distribution / retail industry AND at least 5 years at a director level
  • Experience in ISO 14001
  • Experience in deploying recycling solutions in a corporate context (important asset)
  • Excellent computer skills including Office Suite
  • Experience in B2C, retail, distribution is an asset
  • Possess effective presentation skills, both written and oral communication in French (mandatory) and English
  • Strong problem-solving skills with high levels of motivation, initiative, and energy.
  • Ability to influence senior leadership and executives to drive decision-making and action
  • Ability to synthesize and communicate insights across all levels of the company
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills including Demonstrated experience in working with multiple stakeholders to successfully execute action plans.
