Professional Intern - Human Resources, Birchwood

Full-Time Summer Internship Position

Start date: April (Flexible), End Date: End of August

Pay: $21/hr

Closing date: March 31, 2025

The Professional Intern - Human Resources works closely with several business operations within Birchwood. The successful candidate will assist the Learning and Development team, HR Services and Recruitment team with day-to-day activities within Birchwood. This role provides a valuable opportunity for individuals seeking to complete their Human Resources degree and pursue their CPHR designation.

This position will be a part of the Birchwood Professional Intern program where students will:

  • Network and connect with other intern students
  • Participate in leadership and professional development training

What you will do:

· Birchwood’s United Way campaign - design, develop a plan and help execute team member engagement

· Analyze data to uncover valuable insights that enhance learning and development strategies.

· Develop creative skills by designing engaging eLearning content for our team members.

· Gain hands-on experience with HRIS and LMS systems, building sought-after skills for today’s job market.

· Work on real projects that directly impact the success of our Sales & Service teams.

· Collaborate with experienced HR and L&D professionals, gaining mentorship and industry knowledge.

· Contribute to a dynamic and supportive work environment that strengthens your resume.

· Support recruitment efforts by posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.

· Assist with onboarding by preparing paperwork and organizing orientation materials.


Qualifications:

· Pursuing post-secondary education in the field of Human Resources

· Knowledge of basic Human Resources theories and best practices

· Ability to troubleshoot quickly, identify trends and recommend solutions

· Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment and work on cross-functional teams

· High attention to detail, proven time management, and organizational skills

· Working knowledge of Microsoft and other applications

· Valid 5F driver's license and own transportation to and from work as some Birchwood locations are not on a bus route

· The Learning and Development team is located out of the Birchwood Ford on Regent Ave
