Reporting Relationship: The Sales Manager reports directly to the General Sales Manager.
Job Summary:
The Sales Manager provides leadership and expertise to operate an efficient and profitable sales team.
The primary focus is to oversee a sales team of 4-5 individuals. Responsibilities are to impact customer service situations, meet customers at the Selection stage, assist in negotiations, execute daily one on ones, oversee and implement individual development plans, train and develop team members and work through financial objectives.
The other focus is to oversee the Used Vehicle Operation. Responsibilities are to make decisions on Used Vehicle Pricing, Wholesaling and Procurement, as well as to oversee the dealership appraisal process.
This position is a senior Sales Manager role with the expectation that the individual will act as a mentor to the Sales department and will provide support to staff within the department as well as the entire dealership.
Responsibilities:
• Train, develop and grow team members and work through financial objectives
• Meet all direct sales team member’s customers and assist in negotiations, increase level of customer service and deal with any customer service issues that may arise
• Work with UVS to procure supplemental inventory to achieve 45-60 FDS
• Oversee and/or execute appraisal process at the store
• Establish budget for reconditioning and ensure timely execution of reconditioning
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years of Automotive Sales experience is required
• Previous experience in Sales Team Leadership or Automotive Finance is an asset
• Education in Business Administration, Project Management or related studies is an asset
• Experience in operating or overseeing a Used Vehicle Operation is an asset
• Previous experience managing a team and/or strong leadership skills is an asset.
• Clear Credit and Criminal Record Check
• Valid Class 5F driver’s license, and clear drivers abstract
