Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Logistics, Team Lead, the role of Logistics Specialist will be part of the Logistics & Facilities Team at BlackBerry QNX. This position will be responsible for coordinating shipments by air, ocean, and truck, including, import and export customs formalities. Also required are Facilities, Sales Order Processing, and Order Fulfillment duties in this role.
Key Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will plan and execute on the following responsibilities:
- Preparing shipments travelling by truck, air, ocean, export and import shipments.
- Conformity verification of all documentation at time of shipment preparation.
- Consulting with internal and external stakeholders to determine what documentation is required, for specific products being shipped to and from abroad.
- Contacting carrier representatives for shipment pre-planning arrangements and issue shipping instructions.
- Daily monitoring and tracking of shipments to their destinations.
- Read, monitor, and respond promptly, to all incoming communications (internal customers and other business partners-Domestic and Overseas) to properly manage and control daily operational responsibilities.
- Building and maintaining good relationships with vendors and internal customers.
You will have:
- Minimum 1-3 years of related experience in Logistics and Transportation.
- Experience in dealing and resolving customs delays.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex shipments via all modes of transportation.
- Proven ability to prioritize a wide variety of functions and responsibilities.
- Advanced organizational skills.
- Experience with Asset Management.
- Familiarity with tariff classification, along with customs import and export regulations/controls.
- Creative and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in managing emergency situations in an effective business and collaborative manner.
- Proficient in time management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in Dangerous Goods handling and shipping would be an asset.
