TEMPORARY PART-TIME VACANCY
One (1) Temporary Part-time (0.6 FTE, 21 hours/week) Client Services Technician
DATES: Commencing as soon as possible and ending July 11, 2025, or earlier if incumbent returns or circumstances change.
WORK LOCATION: Bluewater Education Centre, Information Communications Technology Services, Chesley, Ontario
SUPERVISOR : Gary Mark, Supervisor of Information Communications Technology Service Desk
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Client Service Technician provides support, assistance and training to Bluewater District School Board staff and students on using information and communication hardware and software. The purpose of the position is to ensure proper operations to enable users to accomplish administrative, business and curriculum tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Liaise with, and provide training, support and assistance to end users and staff on administrative processes, computer operation and other issues including help desk requests
Develop documentation and inventory control tasks as required by the department
Develop documentation processes for administrative applications
As required liaise with third-party support and equipment/application vendors
Assess and analyze Help Desk processes
Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, networked peripheral devices, and networking hardware products
Where required analyze, install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot associated applications and end user workstation software, server software and networking software products
Other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
College Diploma in Information Technology or a related field
ASSETS:
3 years’ experience in a school/board familiar with school processes throughout a school year
3 years’ experience supporting the School Systems and similar role
3 years’ experience supporting hardware, customer technical support, help desk experience
ITIL processes, change management, A+ certification
Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong customer service orientation
Self-motivated and directed with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Must have access to an automobile and valid driver’s license to meet work expectations
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Eligible to work in Canada
Clean vulnerable sector police check
Clean criminal record check
