Description
The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Graduate of recognized Community College Physiotherapy / Occupational Therapy diploma program or Rehab Assistant Diploma Program required
• Basic proficiency in the use of computers required
• Previous experience in a Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy department preferred
• Assume an assigned caseload and instruct/supervise individual and group patient treatment programs under the supervision of a Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist
• Communicate significant changes in patient condition to the Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist
• Record patient care statistics as required
• Prepare, apply and remove therapeutic modalities within the parameters set by the Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist
• Supervise patients in self-care and mobility techniques using appropriate mobility aids and assistive devices.
• Maintain ongoing tidiness and hygiene of the Therapy Services Department
• Rotate into any patient care area as required by the Physiotherapist and/or Occupational Therapist
• Participates in unit/department and Hospital Quality Improvement initiatives
• Completes continuing education requirements as necessary
• Other related duties as assigned
Selection will be made on the basis of skill, ability, experience and qualifications as per Article 21.01 of the OPSEU Collective Agreement.
