The Business Technology Training Manager works collaboratively with the North American Commercial Banking (NACB) business to train and mentor employees to develop the core capabilities required to navigate BMO’s Commercial Lending Systems. The Role develops, plans & executes a blended learning strategy to offer a best-in-class training experience for the North American Commercial Banking personnel. The Role leads the training and development strategy for the NACB personnel to support & grow the knowledge base of BMO’s Commercial Lending Systems. The Business Technology Training Manager acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all relevant Commercial Lending Systems.

Core Accountabilities:

  • Lead multiple BMO Commercial Lending Systems training strategy initiatives varying in size and complexity, including activities such as scheduling training dates & times for sessions, coordinating communication, develop & maintain learning assets and the live virtual facilitation of training sessions.
  • Develops and maintains interactive eLearning modules based on an in-depth understanding of BMO’s Commercial Lending Systems.
  • Facilitates live virtual sessions for the NACB personnel to optimize the knowledge and skill of BMO’s Commercial Lending Systems.
  • Coaches, mentors and tracks trainee participants progress while soliciting feedback on a continuous basis to consider improvement opportunities and revisions to training plans.
  • Identifies areas of Commercial Lending that require supplement training and shares best practices, ensuring streamlined training approaches and employees key principles for continuous improvement.
  • Provides support to all Commercial Banking personnel, identifying areas to resolve issues & answer questions raised by training participants.
  • Ensures all learning content posted to the North American Commercial Banking websites are up-to-date and include the most relevant information of BMO’s Commercial Lending Systems.
  • Answers questions in the MS Teams Meeting Chat during live virtual sessions to assist resolving issues for training participants during sessions.
  • Reviews learning assets to support the Business Technology Training Team’s implementation of a thorough and well executed training plan.
  • Executes work to deliver timely, accurate and efficient service of all training tasks.
  • Works in collaboration with change management functions related to various training initiatives.
  • Builds effective relationships with content issues and SMEs to support business in the delivery of learning assets.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Leads training, planning, development & execution of technical learning solutions for BMO’s Commercial Lending Systems.
  • Understands technical & business requirements and translate content into clear & concise learning material.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant Commercial Lending Systems for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Implements change in response to shifting training trends.
  • Maintains and enhances knowledge of BMO's Commercial Lending Systems key functionality in support of NACB business objectives.
  • Creates and maintains Commercial Lending System eLearning modules.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems adhering to Commercial Banking policies and guidelines.
  • Mentors, coaches and guides junior Training Analysts.
  • Works independently with limited supervision.

Qualifications:

  • 2 - 5 years of Learning & Development experience, including knowledge and experience using relevant Commercial Lending Systems.
  • 2 - 5 years of Commercial Banking Underwriting/ Portfolio Management knowledge & experience - In-depth / Expert.
  • Commercial Banking product, policy, regulations and process knowledge - In-depth / Expert.
  • Knowledge of standard Microsoft Office software. - In depth / Expert.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills, specifically in content layout, maintaining existing files and presentation building.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel, which is used to build reports and organize data into accessible spreadsheets.
  • Attention to detail - In-depth / Expert.
  • Experience in the design & development of training - Preferred.
  • Facilitation / Training People - In-depth / Expert.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Design thinking - In-depth / Expert.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth / Expert.
  • Collaboration & team skills, with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert
  • Influence skills - In-depth / Expert
  • Adult Learning accreditation - Preferred.

Salary:

$68,000.00 - $126,000.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
