Your mission should you accept it:

Under the supervision of the Health & Safety Manager, the Health & Safety Administrative Coordinator is responsible for supporting the written safety programs, procedures, and requirements of the organization. They ensure the best safety practices are applied to safety policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will bring technical and interpersonal skills to identify HSE issues and communicate corrective and preventative actions through the involvement of management. They will be capable of working and delivering in complex working environments and under pressure and have strong initiative, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Experience in a similar Health & Safety role within the construction or industrial sector.
  • Bilingual (French & English) is mandatory.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Advanced capabilities with MS Office, including MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Incident Management Tools.
  • Knowledge of applicable provincial environmental and safety laws/regulations and standards (CNESST for Quebec).
  • Ability to show initiative, autonomy, and leadership.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • High level of administrative rigor.
  • Knowledge of COR system, an asset.

What you will do to complete this mission successfully:

  • Ensure that all HSE documents are current and posted for internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and analyze all statistical data on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly period, and communicate trends and important issues to management.
  • Ensure an HSE training/tracking system is maintained and current; review documents based on debriefings and accidents that occurred during the year for all workers.
  • Develop presentations, forms, bulletins, and training awareness tools.
  • Communications and follow up with CNESST, when an event is reported.
  • Assist in communication of health and safety trends to management and operations to obtain support and participation in problem-solving processes.
  • Maintain and update 3rd party contractor/client/vendor management sites and third-party procurement websites.
  • Maintaining a current version of the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and providing regular updates to all required personnel.
  • Create a register of hazardous products used on sites, find material safety data sheets for products used, update them on BOX, and keep them up to date.
  • Process and classify documents from different sites.
  • Review the subcontractor's pre-qualification form and send the result to the various sites to inform them of the result, the duration of the pre-qualification, the methods of control, and the missing documents.
  • Update each province's prequalification based on information received from subcontractors and work sites.
  • Answer questions from subcontractors, occasionally.
  • Verify the content and detail of accident investigations, root cause, and corrective actions.
  • Set up various training sessions and exams.
  • Provide prevention program training and accident investigation training.
    Support projects in the choice of training suppliers.
  • Other related duties.
