Night School Teacher
OSSLT Remedial Literacy
Location: Holy Trinity Catholic High School
The Night School Teacher will provide planned after school literacy instruction and closely monitor student engagement, student attendance, and student achievement for preparation of the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test.
Effective Dates : October 23, October 30, November 6, November 13, November 20 (3:15pm - 5:00pm)
*Subject to annual budget approval and/or annual system organization and/or sufficient program enrollment.
Qualifications:
Basic* : Junior/Intermediate or Intermediate/Senior English
Experience : Five (5) years successful teaching experience or equivalent
* To be considered you must hold the Basic* qualifications, as noted above, at the time of application.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and provide instruction of Grade 9 literacy expectations based on student achievement
Communicate clear assessment criteria;
Utilize technology to deliver well-designed lessons incorporating learning goals/success criteria;
Stimulate literacy discussion, provide descriptive feedback;
Monitor and record student attendance; and
Maintain supervision of students in the designated classroom location.

We are located approximately one hour west of Toronto, one hour east of London and one hour south of Kitchener-Waterloo.
