We are looking to expand our R&D team with a motivated and resourceful candidate with a speciality in organic chemistry. This job involves multi-step synthesis of next-generation organic molecular and polymeric semi-conductors and the scale-up of some of the high-demand materials. The project we are working on is multidisciplinary and additional expertise in the fields of polymer synthesis, organometallic catalysis, printed electronics, ink formulation and nanotechnologies is a major asset.

Functions:

  • Design and synthesis of organic semiconductors.
  • Reaction optimization and scale-up development.
  • Organic material analysis and characterization.
  • Documenting all experiments according to the chemical industry standards.

Conditions: Competitive salary and benefits. 40h week with flexible schedule, typical 8h30 to 17h30

Duration: 3 months probation leading to permanent contract

Requested skills

  • Master’s degree or PhD in chemistry with hands-on experience in organic chemistry.
  • Be a member of the Order of chemists of Quebec or in the process of being obtained.
  • Experience in process chemistry an asset.
  • Experience in polymer synthesis, organometallic catalysis, printed electronics, ink formulation and nanotechnologies an asset.
  • High learning ability and flexibility to tackle unexpected challenges requiring new sets of skills.
  • Ability to work in a team to achieve a common goal.
  • Great problem-solving skills.
  • English (spoken and written) mandatory and French an asset.
