IT Business System Analyst, Product Management

The Business System Analyst plays a key role in identifying, analyzing and positioning opportunities to innovate business processes, develop new business capabilities and improve business performance. This individual acts as an extension of the business user, augmenting the business capacity to realize projects by capturing, contextualizing and communicating business requirements in a language and format that facilitates understanding among project team members.

This position supports the TRIAD in pre-project activities by capturing and refining business requirements and supporting the business case to justify projects. Once a project is approved, the analyst will be involved in the full delivery cycle, including design, development, testing and operationalization.

The ideal candidate has excellent leadership and communication skills in addition to professional business analyst practices and strategic business acumen along with a high level of curiosity, which allows them to develop technical and functional knowledge through various business processes. They will work closely with clients, architects, the development team and managers.
 

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
 

With the TRIAD:

  • Participate in the identification, analysis and prioritization of opportunities to improve business performance.

  • Participate in the development of business cases to justify and prioritize new projects for the business.

  • Prepare pre-project materials and present findings as part of the project selection and prioritization process.

With project delivery teams:

  • Lead the process to gather business requirements and question needs.

    • Organize workshops, conduct interviews, research related subject matter and apply other information gathering techniques to clarify and qualify requirements.

    • Capture, document and validate business requirements.

  • Ensure that project deliverables meet the business requirements, scope and intent of the project.

  • Provide detailed answers to project team questions in relation to business requirements and system functionalities.

  • Review project deliverables to ensure they are evolving in line with the requirements.

  • Identify and document test cases to ensure solutions will perform under production conditions.

  • Accompany Business Users during their acceptance tests.

  • Validate all test results.

  • Contribute to the definition and development of the BA/BSA practice at BRP.

  • Help to refine the business analysis methodology, processes and tools.

  • Support less experienced BA/BSA team members and contribute to their personal and professional development.

  • Develop in-depth expertise (ex: Product Management, Manufacturing, Service) and take on a subject matter leadership role in this area, including providing expert advice to other Towers. 
     

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES: 
 

  • A bachelor’s degree in commerce, management, engineering, computer science or a related discipline. A master’s degree would be an asset.

  • At least 8 years of experience as a business analyst and/or functional analyst.

  • At least 8 years of experience participating in the delivery of technology-based solutions.

  • Knowledge of engineering environment (R&D) processes is a must.

  • A proven ability to identify and formalize business needs, convert them into instances of use, user case histories and/or test cases. 

  • Experience in the development of IT project costs, risks and ROI assessments.

  • Versed in the Google Suite environment (asset).

  • Recognized CRM and customer service skills.

  • Siemens Teamcenter knowledge would be a plus.

  • Solid problem-solving skills and demonstrated curiosity in technological solutions.

  • Strong analytical and information processing skills.

  • The ability to influence, challenge, persuade and initiate change.

  • The ability to set priorities and perform tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • An extensive background in a collaborative, team-run environment.

  • Good judgment and discretion in dealing with sensitive situations.

  • Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.

  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English.
