Project Lead, Project Management Office

The project management practice lead is the central point for the methodology, processes, tools, and management of analyses of the project office. They also provides mentorship and coaching for the managers and controllers of delivery teams.


 YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Develop, implement, and ensure the continuous improvement of standards for methodologies and processes related to portfolio management.

  • Ensure the transition of the methodology to incorporate "Waterfall", "Hybrid", and "Agile" project management models, emphasizing value delivery while adhering to compliance requirements.

  • Ensure a clear understanding of R&R (roles and responsibilities) and the RACI matrix.

  • Elaborate and streamline templates and guidelines for various methodologies, with an emphasis on delivering value and improving efficiency.

  • Develop and provide standardized, centralized tools to support methodologies and processes.

  • Provide support, training, and continuous improvement for tools supporting portfolio management.

  • Provide the necessary mentoring and coaching to project managers and controllers so that they emphasize facilitation over control.

  • Lead the Project Management Practice.

  • Develop, implement, and ensure the continuous improvement of performance indicators for portfolio management.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, business computing, computer engineering, or any related discipline.

  • Seven to ten years of experience in project management across the 3 delivery modes.

  • Three years of experience in a similar role.

  • A recognized certification in project management (PMP, ACP, PSM, Agile, etc.).

  • Good knowledge of business, operational and corporate processes.

  • Experience working in matrix environments.

  • Functional French and English: the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders daily outside Quebec or unilingual English speakers.

  • Leading and Influencing: positively influence your colleagues in achieving both sectoral and organizational goals.

  • Develop business connections: establish and maintain collaborative business relationships both internally and externally.

  • Communicate effectively: express ideas clearly, demonstrate active listening, select communication techniques that are appropriate for the given context, and show a good ability to synthesize by integrating various elements or pieces of information into a unified structure.

  • Creativity/innovation: consistently seeking to improve methods and the quality of services provided.

  • Stakeholders as a priority: anticipate, understand, and know how to meet stakeholder expectations.

  • Encourage teamwork: collaborate with internal and external partners in setting objectives and solving problems.

  • Decision-making: Evaluate the levels of importance, urgency, and risk of a situation within one's field of competence and make the appropriate decisions.

  • Organize: prioritize your team's tasks, develop resource plans, monitor projects, and ensure documentation of activities.

  • Planning: outline the activities of the sector, develop action plans, collaborate on their execution, and evaluate results and work processes.

  • Contribute to finding solutions: assess problematic situations, attempt to identify causes, explore possible solutions, and submit recommendations.

  • Exhibit leadership: mobilize and inspire the resources under your responsibility, convey clear expectations, and provide the necessary support to achieve both individual and organizational goals within the project.

  • Rigour: carefully and fully adhere to prescribed procedures and work methods to ensure a superior level of quality and precision.
