Posting 2025-071: Probationary Student Transition Support Teacher (SAL) and Adult Education/ Day Release Teacher (1.0 FTE)
Duties to commence September 1, 2024 for a 2 year term ending August 31, 2026.
Reporting to the Superintendent of Education, the Student Alternative Learning Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative educational programs to students, adult learners, and participants in a day release program through our college partners . The role involves creating and implementing alternative learning strategies that cater to diverse student needs, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, and collaborating with educators, counselors, and community resources to help students achieve their educational goals.
Qualifications:
Hold a Certificate of Registration for Ontario College of Teachers valid for assignment as an Secondary Teacher at the time of application.
Hold qualifications in the Intermediate and Senior Divisions.
Knowledge base of adolescent literacy guide an asset.
Hold qualifications in Special Education (an asset).
Knowledge of CO-OP (an asset).
English qualifications (an asset).
Hold a Religious Education Certificate Part I or a Letter of Equivalency (preferred).
Teacher allowance $1,545 in lieu of daily travel and mileage expense.
Incumbents are not guaranteed successive terms.
