2025-077: Temporary Full-time Social Worker (1.0 FTE)
Union Position with APSSP
Location to be determined.
Duties to commence August 29, 2024 and end March 7, 2025
Working with a multidisciplinary team, the successful applicant will be responsible for responding to the educational, social, emotional and practical needs of students and families through consultation, assessment, direct services including the provision of psychotherapy and liaison with outside agencies.
The successful applicant will possess:
A Social Science degree or diploma from an accredited institution. A Masters level degree would be an asset, however other credentials will be considered in combination with experience.
Registration with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
Knowledge of and experience with the provision of evidence based treatment modalities.
Certification/training in CBT, DBT, Solution Focus Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Motivational Interviewing approaches would be an asset.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with youth, parents and community contacts.
Crisis intervention skills.
A valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout a large catchment area.
