Buffalo Trail Public Schools has an immediate opening for a 0.5 FTE temporary Grade 1 teacher at Wainwright Elementary School. This position will be afternoons and may include all grade one subjects and additional duties as assigned by the principal.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Shall be a dynamic student-centered educator committed to maximizing learning in a safe and caring environment

Experience and/or training in the application of Assessment for Learning strategies, embedded formative assessment, and varied summative assessments is essential

Possess a strong background in the use of technology to enhance student learning

Ability to create a positive learning environment and foster positive professional relationships with students

Is dependable with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in a team setting

Demonstrates a strong commitment to professional growth and continually increasing their effectiveness as an educator

A willingness to participate in extracurricular activities would be considered an asset

Wainwright Elementary School is a Kindergarten to Grade 6 school. We have a 3 year old "Little Leaders" and a Pre-K (4 year old) program housed in the building. We are a "Leader In Me" school in which our students take on responsibility and lead by example.
