We are a CWB certified shop and have an exciting opportunity on our day shift for a Purchasing Assistnant We are a specialized weld shop dealing with high grade material looking for a skilled Materials Coordinator to join our team and grow.

Hours of Work:
Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Monday - Thursday), 7:00AM to 11:00AM Friday - 40 Hours Per Week

What will you be doing:

  • Ability to process purchase orders, including entering existing POs into the ERP software, updating POs as required, and expediting vendors as required
  • Performing systemic receiving activities for consumable goods, project materials ensuring closure of systemic POs upon completion
  • Follow up with vendors are required, supporting QA document requirements and receipt of good requirements when needed
  • Placement of purchase orders with direction from the purchasing manager
  • Assist with inventory management including material verifications and inventory management
  • Ability to interpret a wide variety of pack slips/BOL
  • Keeps accurate records of all transactions and purchase orders
  • Performance at a high standard while meeting deadlines
  • Filing of purchasing documents both systemically and physically
  • Work closely with accounting to ensure that vendor invoices can be traced to purchasing documents
  • Scanning of associated work documents to assist purchasing and accounting
  • Troubleshoot systemic issues that involve purchase orders, purchase order receiving and invoicing
  • Note any problems to the Plant Manager or Purchasing Manager that will affect the safety of other employees, the production due dates or the quality of every manufactured product.
  • Follow Cambridge Pro Fab’s rules and regulations, including health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Abide by the OHSA and other federal and provincial regulations.
  • Wear approved personal protective equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and foot protection.
  • Maintaining the required level of quality.
  • Work and assist other employees in continuously improving safety and production demands and quality.
