THE ROLEThe Aquatics Supervisor plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs, services and ensuring the safety of our military members and their families.
Our services are tailored to help families with the challenges they may face due to military life and make the most of everyday activities such as going to the pool or beach. We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed Forces are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work. Whether families need to sign the kids up for swimming lessons, improve their fitness, make friends in a new community, our services are here to help.
Aquatics is an exciting and rewarding professional environment that carries great responsibility. The Aquatics Supervisor is responsible for supervising and administering of all activities at the swimming pool in order to provide quality swimming programs and services. You will have the chance to train staff, suggest new programs and problem solve. As supervisor, you will ensure a warm welcome and the safety of all guests around pools as part of a 10 to 15 person team. Using your years of experience, you will be able to mentor staff and help them to develop into strong lifeguards. The key to success in this job is having an authentically friendly demeanor, an unshakably positive attitude and the sincere desire to help and protect others. Best of all, you will still have a chance to perform lifeguard duties and teach swimming lessons.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Physical Sciences, or a related field and some years of experience in aquatics or a related field
(OR An acceptable combination of education, training and experience will also be considered)
Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
Current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) certification
Current recognized Swim Instructor certification
HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport (successful completion by end of probation)
HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children (successful completion by end of probation)

In evaluating, planning, preparing, organizing, and conducting the delivery of aquatic programs
In instructing training sessions
In employee supervision
In applying policies, procedures and regulations
In supervising the work of volunteers
