THE ROLEThe Climbing Wall Attendant monitors the facility and ensures that all climbing equipment and wall are ready for use; monitors clients to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required. They instruct and demonstrate program activities and techniques; adhere to schedule of the facility and assist with scheduling use of the facility.
The Climbing Wall Attendant also performs routine maintenance and safety inspections of equipment and of the climbing wall, as required and monitors equipment returns and ensures proper storage.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma AND some years of experience in a climbing wall environment or a related field.
AND
Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification
Current Climbing Wall Association (CWA) Instructor qualification or Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) Climbing Gym Instructor Level 1
Experience
In climbing wall operations
Knowledge
Of climbing wall equipment and operations
Of climbing instructional techniques
Of injury prevention
Of health and safety practices
