THE ROLEThe COTS Application Specialist configures and supports different integrated COTS applications in collaboration with IM/IT Operations and Project Management teams. They provide third level post-implementation support, to users of internal applications, as well as implementing new functionality to support business objectives and deliverables. They maintain related documentation, including but not limited to installations guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), specifications and training material, in collaboration with the Technical Writing team. They liaise with pertinent personnel (clients, IT, external vendors and contactors) to ensure that problems or inquiries are addressed promptly.
The main focus of this position will be on Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) including Time and Attendance management. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the configuration of these types of applications as well as aligning these solutions with Human Resources (HR) policies, procedures, and union agreements.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Software Development, Computer Programming or a related field AND several years of experience in software development, support and maintenance

OTHER INFORMATIONThis is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
