THE ROLE

Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs.

Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.

The Community Aquatics and Recreation Coordinator plays an important role in the day to day operations of the Recreation Department; planning and organizing events and programs, providing excellent customer service and overseeing staff to ensure programs and operations run smoothly. The Aquatics and Recreation Coordinator is vital in the delivery of all aquatics programs and services; mentoring and supervising staff, overseeing the aquatic facility to ensure that it is operating within policy and working with the Community Recreation Manager to design and develop the schedule and program offerings each season. PSP Recreation services are tailored to assist families with the challenges they may face due to the military lifestyle; by encouraging them to make the most of everyday activities such as going to the playground, pool, or day camp. When members of the Canadian Armed Forces are able to take care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work. Whether families need to sign their kids up for swimming lessons, improve their fitness or make friends in their new community, PSP Recreation is there to help. As the Aquatics and Recreation Coordinator, each day will be different as you coordinate and supervise the details of aquatic, water safety, summer camp and children and youth programming offered throughout the year. The Aquatics and Recreation Coordinator is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in the Canadian Red Cross and Lifesaving Society aquatics programs and services and is able to supervise their delivery. You will be responsible for creating, delivering, marketing and analyzing adult and children’s programming. You will have a chance to expand your skills and share your passions as you mentor junior staff and volunteers all with the goal of improving the quality of life for our military members and their families.
