THE ROLEThe Day camp supervisor plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs, services and facilities to our military members’ children.
Our services are tailored to help families with the challenges they may face due to military life and make the most of everyday activities such as going to day camp. We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed Forces are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work.
The incumbent will work with school-age children, children (5 to 12 years old) and have teenagers and young adults as staff. Each day will be different as you supervise, coordinate and manage the details of programs offered at Plein Soleil camp. You will have a chance to expand your skills and share your passions as you mentor junior staff and volunteers, all with the goal of improving the quality of life for our military members’ children. You will be responsible for planning, organizing and evaluating activities such as outings, bookings, special activities, weekly meetings. You will also be responsible for sound administrative management, including phone follow-ups, emailing and budgeting.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma
Certification in one recreation program area
Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport (successful completion by end of probation)
HIGH FIVE QUEST 2 (successful completion by end of probation)
HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children (successful completion by end of probation)
Experience
In planning, organizing and evaluating the operations and delivery of recreation programs
In program development and instruction
In applying policies, procedures, regulations, and applicable legislation
In supervising personnel
In supervising the work of volunteers
In budget administration
Competencies

OTHER INFORMATIONPerform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg).
The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check.
This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
START DATEApril 28 2025 to June 1 2025 and possibility of a temporary full-time position for less than three months during the summer.
