THE ROLE

Under the responsibility of the coordinator, the Facilities and Equipment Maintainer maintain all outdoor sports and recreation activity sites and their access, use equipment for maintenance and repair of outdoor sports and recreation activity facilities, sites and their access, use maintenance tools and equipment and perform minor maintenance on them. Inspect, clean, maintain and repair sports and recreation activity sites and ancillary buildings, collect refuse and recyclables and sort accordingly, issue, receive, mark and store equipment and merchandise. Greet visitors, establish nature of business, inform and direct them to appropriate area or person, clean, prepare store, inspect and repair sports and recreation equipment used for activities.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

High school diploma AND some years of experience in landscaping, in operating outdoor facilities or a related field

Valid driver’s license class 5

Experience

In the maintenance practices and techniques for outdoor equipment, buildings and fields


In constructing outdoor sports and recreation activity sites


In using field and facility maintenance equipment, and hand and power tools


In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing

Competencies

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

PSP: Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs. Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.
