THE ROLEUnder the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Golf Course Assistant Mechanic performs maintenance of golf course equipment in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals. They inspect and test engines, motors and other mechanical components using test devices to diagnose and isolate faults. They advise supervisor of requirements and/or replacement of components for golf course equipment. They adjust, repair or replace mechanical or electrical system parts and components of maintenance equipment. They test and adjust repaired equipment and performs scheduled maintenance service on equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate or apprenticeship in Mechanics, or a related field, AND some years of experience in Mechanical work or in a related field
WHMIS certification or equivalent
A valid driver’s license (ON)
Experience
In a mechanical trade at a golf course or similar environment
In welding
Competencies

This Category I unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the PSAC bargaining unit for NPF Category I employees at CFB Kingston.
