THE ROLE

As a Sales Consultant, you provide retail services to a unique client base, - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You set up the electronics, computers, appliances, and furniture departments and provide technical and professional advice on sales and products offered. You maintain stock control, make recommendations for new merchandise, and prepare purchase orders. You assist in developing mark down strategies, process and track repairs and assist in the development of advertising programs.

The Sales Consultant may also provide a variety of other retail services, including regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, self-serve gas services, and postal services. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine, and maintain a float. You may take and prepare food and beverage orders and prepare takeout food, while ensuring cleanliness of food service and eating areas.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience

Food Handling Certification, as required

In visual merchandising

In setting up department of Electronics, Computers, Appliances and Furniture

In cash handling

In using basic office equipment
