THE ROLEAs an Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator, you will coordinate and administer the occupational health and safety program, providing advice and guidance on the interpretation and application of policies, procedures, guidelines, and plans. You will participate in the development and implementation of occupational health and safety programs and plans, coordinate their implementation, and monitor to develop solutions and make recommendations. You will collect and analyze data regarding compliance with legislation, policies, programs, and plans.
The Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator, will assist with the development and dissemination of communication materials, including monitoring and updating the organization’s website. You will participate in projects, coordinate project logistics, and track the completion of deliverables. Working as part of a team with substantial interaction with local management teams, you will support claims management processes and analyze and summarize incident statistics and emerging trends, making recommendations to management.
Your responsibilities will also include supporting the assessment of hazards and risks and providing guidance on effective control strategies, which includes the development of safe work procedures and practices. Additionally, you will support incident investigation processes and provide recommendations to address incident root causes where necessary. QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field AND several years of experience in occupational health and safety, or human resources, or, or in a related field

OTHER INFORMATION
This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
