THE ROLEAs Senior Manager for Corporate Accounting Services, you will oversee accounting processes and services for our corporate entities which include retail operations, financial services, banking, centrally funded morale and welfare operations, pension, benefits and real property management. As senior manager, you will provide accounting control over the organization's assets and liabilities. You will receive, safeguard and disburse funds while planning, coordinating and managing the production and preparation of internal and audited financial statements. You will compile financial statistics for briefings to senior management showing progress, conditions and results.
You will analyze operating results and make specific recommendations to management, designed to adapt to adverse trends or changes in operations, to reduce costs and/or improve profits. You will monitor cash flow and advise on required action for delinquent or excessive/under-utilized receivables and payables. You will oversee classification and recording of financial transactions and financial record maintenance and retention.
This role requires the ability to efficiently manage priorities and tasks which have fixed monthly deadlines. Strong computer skills with knowledge of Excel, great customer service skills and an aptitude to learn are important.

Education, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or a related field AND a few years of experience in accounting

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation

In financial management
In developing and writing of financial (accounting) policy and/or operating procedures
In interpretation and application of policies, accounting standards and Federal/Provincial regulations
In personnel administration and managing teams
In reviewing and analyzing financial data/reports

In Caseware Working Papers and Caseview, an asset

OTHER INFORMATIONThis is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
