THE ROLEThe Special Events Coordinator plays an important role, providing engaging and morale-boosting events to our military members and their families.
You will have a diverse portfolio including the planning, organizing and coordinating of special events for CFB Esquimalt, such as Formation Fun Day, Navy Run, holiday-themed events and supporting many others. As part of organizing these events, you will build relationships with vendors and sponsors and ensure deliverables are met within those contracts. You will assist in the development and implementation of marketing and promotional programs for the events, including digital, social, and print media.
We are looking for a dynamic, independent, and motivated individual to join our team, helping us give back to our military members and Defense community through fun and exciting events for the entire family!
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in hospitality, Business Management, Recreation, Event Management, or a related field AND several years experience in a related field
AND
Certification relating to special events, meetings or conference management, an asset
Experience
In coordinating hospitality services
In organizing banquets and functions
In organizing sporting & recreation events
In preparing marketing strategies
In managing facilities
In budget administration
In applying policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
