We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Recreation Leader to join our team, taking on a pivotal role in program development, staff mentoring, and contributing to the overall success of our recreational programs.
At CFMWS, we believe in the power of recreation to transform lives and foster social connections. We offer a diverse range of programs and activities that cater to (preschoolers, children, youth, adults, and seniors) in various formats such as arts and crafts, fitness and wellness, performing arts, sports, and outdoor adventures. As a Senior Recreation Leader, you will play a vital role in shaping the experiences of our community members.
As a Senior Recreation Leader, you will provide mentorship and guidance and support to our dedicated recreation staff, helping them excel in their roles and fostering their professional growth. You will collaborate with the program supervisor to design and develop engaging and innovative recreational programs that meet the diverse needs and interests of our community. You will take the lead in facilitating (arts and crafts, fitness and wellness, performing arts, sports, and outdoor adventure) activities, ensuring that participants have a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDEDEducation, Certifications and Licenses
High School diploma AND several years' experience in recreation or in a related field
Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
Vulnerable Sector Check
HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE SportHIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children
Current National Lifeguard Service Certificate (NLS) qualifications, an asset
A valid driver’s license (BC), an asset
Experience
In programming activities for children
In planning and organizing recreational, athletic, fitness and sports activities
In personnel administration
In organizing youth programs
In cash handling
In dealing with the public

In ensuring safety protocol and procedures
