Canadian National Railway Company (CN) is looking for a highly motivated person to fulfill a full-time (40h/week) Intern, Research and Knowledge Management position in Montreal, QC from May - Aug 2025.
Job Summary
The Intern, Research and Knowledge Management is responsible for supporting the evaluation of new initiatives, maintaining project intake and strategic foresight data, structuring core information, and learning the fundamentals of business architecture best practices. The position sits within a team of experienced thought leaders and passionate professionals that solve exciting enterprise challenges in a fun and collaborative atmosphere. Major Responsibilities
· Maintain and update project intake data
· Organize the digital library, ensuring that all resources are easily accessible, maintain integrity, and are up to date
· Structure and organize research outputs and strategic foresight data to support strategic decision-making
· Support the evaluation and assessment of feasibility for initiatives entering the Information and Technology (I&T) department, assisting with project intake processes
· Perform research for major risk areas of projects in I&T’s portfolio intake process
· Assist in the governance of innovation activities, ensuring compliance with protocols and best practices, and assisting with the building of business cases
· Research opportunities in the railroad and adjacent industries then communicate how they could be applied to initiatives in the I&T portfolio
· Gain exposure to key elements of railroading and industry best practices for I&T portfolio management
· Learn the basics of business architecture and innovation management, building your professional skill sets
Requirements
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and organize data systematically
· Capable of conducting thorough and accurate research
· Precise in handling data and documentation
· Effective verbal and written communication abilities
· Competence in using digital tools and handling digital resources
· Entrepreneurial attitude, as evidenced by side projects

Education
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Administration, Information Management, Science, Mathematics, or a related field
*Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
