Major Responsibilities
Manual daily labor associated with resizing/restacking lumber lifts for export.Blocking, bracing securing railcars for unloading/loadingComplete paperwork associated with the loading and unloading of railcars and trailersBeing able to work physically out in the weather conditions for the entirety of their shifts.Working Conditions
Working from heights, tossing cables on top of Center beams, tightening cables for securement purposes.Available to work shifts, weekends, holidays, nights and occasional overtime when necessaryRegular exposure to dust, pollen, noise and vibrationsPhysical: lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 70 pounds occasionallyClimb and balance, grip handholds while working at heights of 4-8 feet (1-2 meters) off the groundBend, stoop, squat, kneel, and perform overhead workRequirements
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)Valid driver’s licenceMust be at least 18 years of ageAbility to work autonomously, adapt to different situations and manage stressDemonstrate good teamwork and maintain positive interactions with othersGood verbal, reading comprehension, and writing skillsBe dedicated to meeting established standards of quality, safety, productivity and client satisfaction Hand-eye coordinationProficiency with shovels, rods and pry bars, sledgehammers, jackhammers, wrenches, hand and power drills, hand tools and technical instruments (meters)Proficiency in the operation of Forklifts, up to 28,000 pounds (13,000 kg) capacityVocational and technical training or knowledge of Rail Operating RulesThis position is a unionized position. As such, pay and benefits are governed by the applicable collective agreement
