As the Payroll Assistant Student, you will provide you with an opportunity to work alongside experienced and talented Payroll professionals and take part in interesting and challenging work assignments. Our company culture fosters a fun working environment, development of meaningful relationships and continuous learning. Building on classroom studies, you will develop and enhance your skills while working with mentors to kick-start a successful career in Human Resources or Accounting.

  • Term length: 12 months
  • Term start: January 2025
  • Job location: Calgary, AB - Head Office
  • Shift schedule: 5 x 2 - 8 hours (Monday - Friday)
  • Safety sensitive position: No

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees by addressing their payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Assign appropriate payroll personnel to emails using the payroll inbox and the Oracle HCM Help Desk Service Request system 
  • Verify, enter, and maintain employee records in HR Central, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
  • Record employee changes in the Benefits module
  • Assist in UKG time and attendance entries
  • Administer HUB Allowance program
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures
  • Run, review, and prepare payroll reports and distribute for corrective action by the payroll team 
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned or required, including but not limited to document creation and filing

What You Bring to The Role:

  • Currently enrolled in your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of a Human Resources or Accounting program 
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Strong work ethic, motivated, takes initiative and effective time management and communication skills
  • Proficient in Word and Outlook
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and data manipulation/reporting skills
