Student - Emergency Services - Oil Sands

The Opportunity:

• Term length: 4 months
• Term start: May or September 2025
• Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta - Albian and Horizon Oil Sands site
• Shift schedule: 7 x 7 - 12 hours
• Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

• Annual inventory tracking, including fire, HAZMAT, and rescue equipment. Help ensure expiry dates on consumables are valid.
• Annual ERP and SOP review and update (ensuring dates are current)
• Annual fire extinguisher audits and building inspections
• Fire training and prevention - assist with equipment needs and tracking documents. Observe training and participate in low risk evolutions where possible
• Gas and respiratory maintenance
• Assist with fire drills and mock exercises in various buildings/areas on-site
• Learn about various aspects of first response: medical, fire, rescue

What You Bring to The Role:

• Currently enrolled in a Primary Care Paramedic/Advanced Care Paramedic program or related degree program (e.g. Emergency Management)
• Previous related field experience is considered an asset
• Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver abstract.
