The opportunityWe’re looking for a dynamic Manager, Benefits to lead the delivery of comprehensive employee health, benefits, and wellness programs at CWB Financial Group. In this key role, you’ll oversee a dedicated team managing group insurance, disability programs, retirement savings plans, and employee share purchase plans. You’ll also play a pivotal role in supporting wellness initiatives and the Employee Assistance Plan. As a crucial part of our Total Rewards team, you’ll contribute to a rewards strategy that reflects our values, improves our employee value proposition, and strengthens our ability to attract and retain top talent.
Areas of focusGroup Benefits Administration
Oversee and responsible for the administration of CWB’s group benefit plans, ensuring accurate processing, payment, and reconciliation of invoices, and maintaining funding for ASO benefits.
Liaise with benefit consultants and providers to assess plan competitiveness, conduct ongoing review of usage trends, and monitor costs.
Disability and Leave Management
Effectively manage and oversee the disability programs and resolving complex cases with collaborators.
Maintain up-to-date leave policies and manage the outsourced disability provider, ensuring clear communication and regular reporting to stakeholders.
Retirement and Wellness Program Administration
Administer the Employee Share Purchase Plan, retirement programs, and wellness initiatives, including the Employee Assistance Program, while managing vendor relationships and budgets.
Oversee the preparation of annual audits and reporting.
Team Leadership
Serve as the escalation point for health, benefits, and wellness matters, aligning team efforts with CWB Group’s strategic goals.
Assist with key initiatives and projects as required.
This role requires an individual with strong integrity and professionalism, who excels in both written and verbal communication. The successful incumbent will demonstrate superior organizational and project management skills, a strong drive for process improvement, and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service by effectively analyzing data, solving problems, supporting employees, and collaborating with stakeholders on complex health, benefit, and wellness programs.
Capabilities that will take you further
University degree in Human Resources or a related field (e.g., Health Promotion, Psychology, Holistic Health), or equivalent experience; a diploma in a health-focused field is an asset.
A Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or a Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation is an asset
5+ years direct experience managing benefits programs, including deep knowledge of group insurance benefits strategies and overall plan management, disability, wellbeing, and managing vendor and consultant relationships.
3+ years of leadership experience managing benefits, compensation, and/or total rewards teams
