ABOUT
We are seeking a one-year, part-time teacher for our Grade 3 Mandarin classes for this school year. The successful applicant will work a total of 11 hours from Tuesday to Friday. Interested applicants must have a strong commitment to the Catholic faith and demonstrate competency with the Chinese language. The candidate will have experience teaching Mandarin in primary teaching, effective classroom management and the ability to work with students of varying abilities and needs. Qualifications and Requirements:
• Completion of a Bachelor of Education
• Completion of a successful teaching practicum and/or successful teaching experience in a Mandarin Bilingual classroom is required
• Native or Native-like fluency in both oral and written traditional Mandarin (traditional and simplified) is required
• Native or Native-like fluency in English is required
• Membership in or eligible to become a member of the Teacher Regulation Branch
• Experience and coursework in Bilingual language instruction is preferred

On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply. Our major hiring season is in April for the following school year, but we recommend that you apply now as we receive an influx of applications.
