About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Team Lead, Joint Interest under the Commercial Services group, this role will provide administrative support to the Cenovus portfolio of jointly owned assets in the Conventional, Heavy Oil & Oilsands business units. The key activities of this position will be to manage, review & approve AFE workflows in the SAP portal, complete contract administration for all types of joint interest agreements and related correspondence, maintaining data integrity in the CS Land contract database, and providing other support functions to the broader Commercial Services and Business Development teams in Conventional.

The successful candidate will be a driven professional with direct Joint Interest Administration experience, a keen attention to detail, proven capacity to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, and has an interest in building and fostering excellent collaborative working relationships with both internal and external collaborators.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide administrative support to all Commercial Services team members, including JI Representatives, JI Contract Analysts, Business Analysts and Business Development personnel.

  • Manage SAP workflows and assist in the review and setup of AFE’s for Cenovus’ jointly owned facilities, pipelines, and units (op/non-op).

  • Draft, distribute and track all mail ballots for Owner approval of capital, expense and ARO projects (op/non-op).

  • Issuing industry notifications and maintaining the general Outlook inbox for the Commercial Services team.

  • Ensure data integrity and input consistency into the CS Land system, including entering new agreements, contract amendments, WI updates, fee changes, operating changes, and contact/address changes.

  • Provide timely regulatory updates for Unit agreements, including ETS submissions and exhibit updates.

  • Support ongoing A&D activities from pre-signing to deal closing.

  • Lead file categorization, folder structure and hierarchy, and file digitization into StackDX database.

  • Engage, support, and collaborate with other internal groups including AFE Analysts, Operations Engineering, ARO, Land, Joint Venture Accounting, Finance, Records Management, Wells Management, etc.

  • Document and update processes to manage workflows and data entry standards for the joint interest team.

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external team members to resolve queries and/or disputes in a timely manner.

Who you are:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

  • Completion of PJVA Administration Certificate (required) and PJVA Analyst Certificate (beneficial)

  • 2+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, with preference given to those with direct experience performing administrative functions in an Upstream Joint Interest Department

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, coordinating multiple tasks often with conflicting priorities.

  • Enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external partners.

  • Systems Experience in MS Office, SAP, CS Land, StackDX, Adobe Professional and AccuMap is preferred
