About this opportunity:

The Process Engineer-in-training within the Operations Engineering team at Husky Midstream plays an important role in optimizing operational processes. This position supports the organization’s safety, efficiency, and growth through process engineering deliverables and guidance.

Key responsibilities include day-to-day Operations and Maintenance support, project/opportunity scoping, technical recommendations, and incident investigation/root-cause analysis.

In scope: all assets owned by Husky Midstream General Partnership (pipelines and terminals, excludes natural gas gathering/processing assets).

The successful candidate grasps technical concepts, collaborates effectively with stakeholders (particularly Operations, Maintenance, and Projects teams), communicates with impact (influence without direct authority), and connects technical recommendations with desired business results.

What you’ll do:

  • Troubleshoot day-to-day process issues

  • Prepare feasibility and front-end scoping studies

  • Support detailed design of facilities or system modifications

  • Participate in or lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), operational risk assessments, process safety incidents, and root cause analyses

  • Participate in Cenovus Operations Integrity Management System implementation and sustainment initiatives

  • Support the upkeep and accuracy of process safety information

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • A degree in Chemical, Process, Industrial Systems Engineering, or equivalent engineering discipline

  • Eligibility for registration with APEGA or APEGS as an engineer-in-training is required

  • 2-4 years of related experience and/or professional engineer designation (P.Eng.) would be an asset

  • Familiarity with process hazard analysis, including What-If, HAZOP, LOPA

  • Awareness of overpressure protection methods and sizing/selection of protection devices would be an asset

As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
